The village of Ribadesella (1,5 km far from La Casa de la Ría) is the capital of a municipality surrounded by mountains, beaches and cliffs. It is interesting to know that in the urban town centre there are many attractive places to visit, in fact, this council has been awarded the title of Touristic Excellence to 1997.
La Villa de Ribadesella, a 1,5 km de distancia de La Casa de la Ría, es la capital del municipio y se encuentra rodeado de montañas, playas y acantilados. Es interesante saber que en el centro urbano hay muchos lugares atractivos para visitar, de hecho, este concejo ha sido galardonado con el título de excelencia Turística hasta 1997.

La Casa de la Ría is located in a Special Birds Protection Area. Relax and watch birds in their natural environment. In the middle of the sea inlet, it´s located the island of La Boticaria, just a few meters before the mouth of the river, which is a key location for birds.
La Casa de la Ría está ubicada en un área de especial protección de aves. Relájate y observa a las aves en su entorno natural. En el medio de la ensenada del mar, se encuentra la isla de La Boticaria, a pocos metros antes de la desembocadura del río, que es un lugar clave para las aves.

Only few experiences are so enjoyable like this. It is a unique experience to cross a mountain following the subterranean course of the river in this case, Tinganón. This cave is one kilometre long, with uncountable corners of great beauty. It also links two big mouths with great heights. The mouth of this cave is in the locality of Llovio, Ribadesella and it is also surrounded by a wonderful landscape.
Solo algunas experiencias son tan impresionantes como esta. Es una experiencia única cruzar una montaña siguiendo el curso subterráneo del río Tinganón. Esta cueva tiene un kilómetro de largo, con rincones incontables de gran belleza. También une dos grandes bocas con grandes alturas. La boca de esta cueva se encuentra en la localidad de Llovio,donde se enclava La Casa de la Ría, rodeada de un maravilloso paisaje.

The Tito Bustillo cave is one of the world´s collections of Palaeolithic rock art. In July 2008 it was declared, together with four other Asturian caves and nine more in Cantabria and the Basque Country, a World Heritage Site due to its extraordinary examples of Palaeolithic rock art.

The Picos de Europa National Park covers the south-western area of Asturias, separating it from the neighbour regions of León and Cantabria. It was the first National Park of Spain, and it was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2003 by the Unesco.
